When you leave a comment, I collect the information you provide in the form, along with your IP address and browser details to help detect spam.
If you provide an email, an anonymised string (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you use it. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture may be visible next to your comment. Gravatar’s privacy policy is here: https://automattic.com/privacy/

🖼️ Media

If you upload images, please avoid embedding location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors could otherwise download and extract location information from your images.

Leaving a comment? You can choose to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience—these last one year.
Visiting the login page sets a temporary cookie to see if your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and is removed when you close your browser.
Logging in sets cookies to remember your login and screen preferences. Login cookies last two days; screen options cookies last one year. Selecting “Remember Me” keeps you logged in for two weeks. Logging out removes these cookies.
Editing or publishing an article sets a cookie that lasts one day, simply storing the post ID. No personal data is included.

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, articles, etc.). This behaves as if you visited the other site directly, which may collect data, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor interaction if you’re logged in there.

Requesting a password reset? Your IP address will be included in the reset email.
Comments may be checked via an automated spam detection service.

Comments and metadata are kept indefinitely, so I can recognise follow-ups without moderation delays.
Registered users’ information is stored in their profile. You can view, edit, or delete your info anytime (except your username). Administrators can also access and edit this data.
